ThunderWolves picked to be playoff team in 2010
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo earned a measure or respect in the 2009-10 RMAC preseason men's basketball coaches poll, released Wednesday, as the ThunderWolves were picked to finish fourth in the RMAC West Division and seventh overall.
The poll essentially picks the ThunderWolves to qualify for the postseason for the second season in a row, as the RMAC Shootout takes the conference's top eight teams.
The ThunderWolves, which finished fourth in the RMAC Shootout last season, earning a berth to the RMAC Semifinals after a 15-14 season and 11-8 RMAC showing, lost three starters to graduation and return two - guards Roman Van Allen (Sr., Los Angeles, Calif.) and Marc Williams (Sr., Seattle, Wash.). The ThunderWolves' success will hinge on how they replace departing all-conference performers, guard Rome Smith and post Jake Trahern.
The Pack did not have a player voted to the Preseason All-RMAC team.
CSU-Pueblo opens its regular season Nov. 21 when they host UC-San Diego in the Al Kaly Classic at CSU-Pueblo's Massari Arena.
