COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 27, 2018) - Colorado State University-Pueblo's Jason Lighthall (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) has been named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, in an announcement from the league office Tuesday.
The righty is the third member of the ThunderWovles to receive a weekly award from the conference, but the first pitcher. Chris Devery (Sr., Saugus, Calif.) earned player of the week Feb. 20 and Billy Reyes (Jr., Yucaipa, Calif.) was player of the week Feb. 6.
Lighthall threw a complete game to lead the Pack to a 3-2 win over No. 10 Angelo State. The righty struck out five. Lighthall only allowed six hits and three walks for a 1.29 WHIP. Lighthall kept the Pack in a game where they only had two hits entering the 7th inning. After the Pack used two solo shots to take the lead. Lighthall went back out and closed out the No. 10 Rams in the bottom of the 7th to clinch the win for the Pack.
The ThunderWolves remain on the road March 2-4, as they open RMAC play at MSU Denver.
