COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 20, 2018) –Chris Devery of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Baseball team earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week honors in Tuesday's weekly release.
Devery (Sr., Saugus, Calif.) led the Pack to a four-game sweep of Northwest Nazarene. The senior went 11-for-17 (.647) with 10 RBIs. He scored five runs.
In the power department, Devery clubbed a home run and 3 doubles to slug 1.000. He also fielded a perfect third base.
In the series opener, Devery went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs. With the score tied at 9, he scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth after a leadoff double.
He had a two RBI single to lead the Pack back from a 7-0 deficit to a 10-7 win. The Pack's third baseman scored two runs with a hit and a walk in game three.
In the series finale, Devery was a perfect 5-for-5 with a home run and 3 RBIs. Thanks to his 10 RBI week, Devery ranks second in the RMAC with 12 RBIs.
This is the second RMAC Player of the Week Award of Devery's career. He earned this accolade May 9, 2017 after a 16 RBI week.
Devery and the Pack will play their first road game of the season Friday Feb. 23 when they face Angelo State University. The four-game series between the Pack and the Rams starts at 3 p.m.
