Fobes named CoSIDA Academic All-District

CSU-Pueblo outfielder Jason Fobes (Sr., Longmont, Colo.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VII team, CoSIDA announced Thursday.

Fobes was the top outfielder chosen in the District VII College Division, which includes Division II, Division III, and NAIA schools in the Central United States.  Fobes, the 2009 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Player of the Year, is a business major with a 3.89 GPA who is also second in the nation with a .497 batting average. 

Fobes is the first CSU-Pueblo baseball player in the history of the program to receive an academic all-district honor.  He is now eligible for the CoSIDA academic all-American team as he strives to become the first academic all-American in CSU-Pueblo baseball history.
