PUEBLO, Colo. (Oct. 3, 2018) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo Department of Athletics shattered records in the Third Annual CSU-Pueblo Give Day. Athletics once again raised money for The Wolfies, which is the all student-athlete banquet, held every year. Funds generated support more than 550 student-athletes, cheer, dance and athletic training students. The event celebrates our seniors with a gift and recognizes the top male and female student-athletes of the academic year.
When the 24 hours were up, the day generated more than $9,200 from nearly 600 donors in support of The Wolfies.
"We know when there is a call-to-action, Pack Nation will show up in numbers, but it is always impressive how supportive and loyal our fan base truly is," said Racheal Morris, Senior Associate Athletic Director/External. "We want to thank the CSU-Pueblo Foundation for letting us be a part of their special Give Day and for all of their hard work behind the scenes to make this happen."
The Wolfies garnered $2,500 in prize money for the day with $1,000 coming from matching funds from the Foundation, and an additional $1,000 for having the most overall donors and $500 for having the most student donors.
"The Athletic Department had 100 percent participation from our 22 programs and in-addition, participation from Pack Cheer and Dance. To us, that is incredibly moving. I congratulate our coaches and student-athletes for taking ownership and pride in The Wolfies. It is a testament to the Pack Way," Morris said.
The Wolfies will be held in mid-April and there is still time to give by clicking HERE.
