PUEBLO, Colo. (March 28, 2018) - Colorado State University-Pueblo's Courtney Ewing (Jr., Pueblo West, Colo.) and Thomas Pudney (Fr., Southend, United Kingdom) have been named Pack Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Mobile Record Shredders.

Ewing finished second at the Pack Spring Invite March 25-26 after shooting 72-71--143 (-1) to lead the ThunderWolves to a third-place finish. She registered four birdies in the second round to aid her second sub-par round of the season.

The junior totaled six birdies in the tournament at Walking Stick Golf Course and played the Par 4's one-under to rank second in the field of 68 student-athletes. The next RMAC athlete in the field shot five-over.

Ewing's performance helped the Pack to a school tournament record of 596 (+20) and a tie for the single round score of 294 (+6). She ranks 61st in GolfStat's individual rankings, while the team sits No. 42.

On the men's side, Pudney earned two key victories for the ThunderWolves in a 5-4 RMAC win against Colorado Mesa.

At No. 1 doubles, he helped post an 8-4 victory. Individually ranked No. 14 nationally, Pudney went on to win at No. 1 singles 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.

The team win against the Mavericks marked the first during the spring season since a 5-3 victory Apr. 21, 2012 in the RMAC Tournament.

Pudney finished the weekend 2-2 after losing twice to nationally-ranked opponents from No. 19 Midwestern State. He lost in No. 1 doubles 8-6 to the 36th ranked pair nationally and fell to the No. 28 player at No. 1 singles by the result of 7-6 (5), 6-3.

The women's golf team will take a week off and next compete Apr. 9-10 in WNMU Mustang Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz. The tennis squad goes on the road to finish the RMAC regular season. The Pack play Apr. 6 at MSU Denver and Apr. 7 at Colorado Christian.
