PUEBLO, Colo. (December 6, 2017) - Colorado State University-Pueblo's Arianna Rohde (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska) and Ron Sweeten (Sr., Falcon, Colo.) have been named Pack Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Mobile Record Shredders.
Rohde was a force for the Pack at the Colorado Mesa University Invite Nov. 30 thru Dec. 2. Rohde set a school record in the 100 back with a time of 59.19. She also swam three of the top five fastest times in program history. Rohde also placed in the top 10 twice against one of the toughest fields the Pack faces all season.
The well rounded swimmer started her meet by helping the Pack's 200 free relay team set the fifth fastest time in school history (1:42.18). Rohde returned Thursday to deliver a personal best in the 200 IM. Her time of 2:16.16 ranks third all time at CSU-Pueblo. She placed 14th overall, earning three points for the Pack.
Rohde earned the Pack's top finish of the meet Friday, touching the wall in sixth place in the 100 fly (59.06). Her time ranks as the fifth fastest in school history.
In the 100 back, Rohde came in eighth with a time of 1:00.70. Rohde's prelim time of 59.19 matched the Pack's school record. Rohde recorded her second top 10 finish of the meet Saturday with a 10th place showing in the 200 back (2:13.68).
On the men's side, in the long jump, Sweeten established an NCAA provisional jump with a leap of 23' 6.75'' (7.18m). He was first of five athletes in the dual at Colorado Mines.
The mark ranks sixth nationally and second in the RMAC.
He also competed in the triple jump and recorded a mark of 45' 10'' (13.97m). It was first of three athletes, ranks as the 18th best mark nationally and second in the RMAC this season. He ran the 200m dash in 23.28 to finish second.
Rohde will lead the Pack swim & dive team into action Saturday at noon at Colorado College. This meet will be held in Schlessman Natatorium in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The track team continues the indoor season and competes this week at the Mines Alumni & Classic Multi Invite Dec. 7-8 at Steinhauer Fieldhouse in Golden, Colo.
