McDowell and Hardy named Pack Athletes of the Week presented by Mobile Record Shredders

PUEBLO, Colo. (November 15, 2017) - Colorado State University-Pueblo's Misha McDowell (Sr., Gilbert, Ariz.) and BJ Hardy (R-Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) have been named Pack Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Mobile Record Shredders.

Misha McDowell finished the 2017 season with one of the best serving seasons in school history. McDowell put down 0.35 service aces per set, tying her for third most all-time.

Her 29 aces this season puts her fifth in the Pack's single-season record books.

McDowell delivered 1.41 kills per set and 0.43 blocks per set. She averaged a career-high 0.56 digs per set.

On the men's side, Hardy went 10-for-14 from beyond the arc in his first two collegiate games for the Pack against Rogers State and Arkansas-Fort Smith in the Conference Challenge Tournament at Massari Arena to open the 2017 season.

Friday Hardy scored eight points and made two 3-point baskets on 3-for-4 shooting.

Hardy hit eight 3-pointers and scored 28 points in just his second game Saturday, but it wasn't enough, as University of Arkansas-Fort Smith defeated the ThunderWolves 86-83.

He scored 20 points in the second half, 14 in the final 5:46, which included a rare four-point play. CSU-Pueblo was down two, 85-83 with 14 seconds left and UAFS hit one of two free throws, giving Hardy one more shot, but it didn't go and the Pack fell by three.

The eight 3-pointers is two shy of the program record.

The Pack shot 37.5 percent from the floor and from 3-point land, hitting on 20 daggers from downtown. The Lions finished shooting 50.8 percent, getting half their points in the paint (46). The road team also dominated the boards with 51 (13 offensive to score 19 second chance points), while the Pack totaled just 28.

For his efforts Hardy was named to the all-tournament team.

Next up for the men's basketball squad will be the 34th Annual Al Kaly Shrine Classic at Massari Arena Nov. 17-18. CSU-Pueblo will play at 7 p.m. both nights with Texas A&M Kingsville Friday and West Texas A&M Saturday.
