Christensen and Alcala named Pack Athletes of the Week presented by Mobile Record Shredders

PUEBLO, Colo. (April 12, 2017) - Colorado State University-Pueblo's Taylor Christensen (So., M, Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Dante Alcala (So., Pueblo, Colo.) have been named Pack Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Mobile Record Shredders.

Christensen led the ThunderWolves in a weekend sweep versus Adams State and UCCS. She set two new career highs in goals scoring four goals Saturday against ASU and resetting her career high with five goals scored Sunday against the Mountain Lions.

Christensen has now scored in every game this season. Her 24 goals stands as a career high and ranks second on the Pack.

She controlled two draws and came up with three ground balls and also forced a pair of turnovers.

On the men's side, Alcala went 5-1 in three matches against RMAC opponents last weekend. He was 3-0 in singles competition with a win at No. 5 and two wins at No. 6.

The sophomore was 2-1 with No. 2 doubles partner James Ryan. In singles play he won in straight sets and didn't allow his opponent more than four points.

He earned two doubles wins Sunday on the road with an 8-4 win against MSU Denver, then needed extra tennis to win against CCU, 9-7 (10-2).

The women's lacrosse team plays two home games this week Friday at 4 p.m. versus Concordia-St. Paul (MN) and Saturday at noon against Westminster both matches at the Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The Pack men's tennis team wraps up the regular season this week with their home finale Thursday at 5 p.m. versus Colorado College at Pueblo City Park Tennis Courts and ends RMAC play Saturday at 9 a.m. at Colorado Mesa.
